Mac Answers was a Q&A Forum where people could pose questions and I would answer them. Actually, I was hoping that other people would chime in with answers as well, but that never happened.
The problem with Mac Answers, and the reason I ended it, was that people would pose questions, I would spend time researching them, often posing followup questions. In too many cases I would never hear from the person again.
I understand that the internet is a big place and there are lots of places to pose questions. I imagine that some of the people posting here posted other places as well and either found their answers elsewhere or just forgot to come back.
At any rate, I was spending a large amount of time putting work in on answers and not feeling like I was getting anywhere.
Once I took down the forum, however, I began to realize that here is good material there that people can learn from. I have decided to reinstate the forum, but in a read-only mode. You can no longer post questions there.
If you have an opinion on the future of the Mac Answers Forum, feel free to send me an email.
