It isn't too big of a secret that Google stores an incredible amount of data about your browsing activity. Many websites that you visit collect information about you as well. (For the record, Basics4Mac collects only aggregate data on its visitors.)

Forcing New Windows to Open as Tabs in Safari 5

Safari displays the sites you are visiting in both Tabs and Windows. While there are times that having multiple widows open in Safari makes sense, for the most part, keeping all of your open sites in one with multiple tabs makes it easier to switch back and forth among them.

Even if you try to keep organized with one single window, many websites will open a new window automatically when you click a link. Safari 5 tries to reduce that behavior.

In this Tip, I continue to discuss the new features of Safari 5. Apple has implemented what it calls the Smart Address Bar. I would call it a "Smarter" Address Bar since it adds new features to Safari but still doesn't offer the functionality of some other browsers such as Firefox.
