Here are a couple of tips to help increase the battery life of your Mac notebook computer:

  • Dim the screen brightness. The F1 and F2 keys increase and decrease the brightness.
  • Turn off Bluetooth
  • Eject CDs and DVDs.
  • Quit applications you aren't using. (How to tell which applications are open)
  • Click on the battery indicator on the menu bar and choose "Better Battery Life." This will cause the Mac to change a variety of internal settings that will slow down your computer a bit but use less power. (Be sure to change it back to "Normal" or "Better Performance" later.)
