All modern browsers use Tabs as a way to open more than one web page in a single window and let you quickly move between them. Safari has been late to the game, however, in how you create new Tabs.
A while back I wrote about a Cool Tool called Twice Tab that let you create a new Tab just by double clicking in the empty space of the Tabs bar.
Today, Apple released Safari 3.1 (check Software Update if you haven't seen it yet) and it finally has the "double click the empty space of the Tabs bar to get a new tab" functionality. You no longer need to install Twice Tab, but if you already have, it doesn't hurt anything to have it still there.
Apple also claims that Safari 3.1 is much faster in loading pages than before. In my casual use of Safari today, I would say that page loading does feel somewhat faster.
Apple gave less detail about other improvements, but one thing they did mention is that Safari has some improved standards. That means that if you have some web pages that you frequent that wouldn't work right in Safari, they might work now.
