A way to organize your iPhoto Library
Keywords are a way to describe your photos using words. Once you have keywords assigned you can create filters to narrow down your library to show only the photos that have the keywords you have selected.

One common way to use keywords is to assign the names of the people in the photo as keywords. That way, you can you back later and filter for "Mary" and see all the photos that show Mary.

In the following video you will see how to assign keywords to a photo in iPhoto and then how to filter on those keywords.
